Visit statistics
This site uses a small first-party script to understand how the portfolio is used. It records the pages you view, roughly how long each page is visible, and which links you select. It does not use cookies and does not store anything on your device.
To tell visits apart, the server combines your IP address and browser details with a secret key that changes every day and keeps only the resulting code. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and the same browser receives a different code each day.
Alongside each visit, the site keeps:
- your approximate location (city, region and country), as provided by the hosting provider;
- the first three parts of your IP address, which identify the network you are using. The final part is discarded and the full address is never stored;
- your browser, operating system and device type;
- the website that linked you here, if any.
This information is used only by Simon Ker to understand interest in the portfolio. It is not sold, shared or used for advertising, and it is not combined with other data. It is deleted automatically after 12 months. The lawful basis is legitimate interests. To ask a question or request deletion, email simon@simonker.com.
Other storage
Some pages keep the order of selected case studies in your browser's session storage while you browse. This stays in your browser and is not sent anywhere.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel, and visit statistics are stored with Upstash. Both process technical information needed to provide their services.
